Counselling
Is drug and alcohol counselling for you?
Are you wanting to reduce substance use and/or move towards abstinence, then counselling can support you to:
-
Identify and treat underlying causes such as anxiety, depression, loss or trauma
-
Understand the process of change and recovery
-
Develop alternative ways of coping with life difficulties based on your values and strengths
-
Repair, rebuild or move on from any problems caused by your substance use
Counselling with Tom - what will it involve?
-
Assessment of your current use of substances and what your needs and goals are
-
Being listened to - the history behind your addiction and underlying causes, with you being in control of how much you share
-
Deciding together which therapy interventions would be most productive for you. These might include Behaviour Therapy, Compassionate Focussed Therapy, EMDR if there is trauma or focused person centred counselling, all of which would be explained.
